Even their 20 tonnes of crochet blankets aren’t enough to keep the Dingles warm this winter in Emmerdale due to the cost of living problem, which is biting hard.
As they struggle to pay their heating costs in these hard times, desperate methods, or a good ol’ Dingle five-fingered-discount, are required.
The family has been facing financial difficulties for a while, particularly since Lydia briefly quit her work and Charity (Emma Atkins) had to take care of Sam and Lydia’s hot shower needs. But as Vinny and Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) step up, the struggling family has had enough.
As Liv’s (Isobel Steele) 21st birthday approaches, Vinny’s misery deepens. While he celebrates her big day, he is overcome with grief at her passing. He turns his focus to supporting his family in order to decompress, and he joins forces with Belle to commit some theft in order to get through the winter.
They intend to steal the oil from Pollard’s tank, which they are looking up. He’s currently spending money on a new company while lording it over everyone like Billy big balls. A few gallons of petrol won’t likely be missed by him.
Their plan isn’t as foolproof as they believe it to be as the two become Yorkshire’s Bonnie and Clyde.
As they enter a life of crime, will they be apprehended?
These two new Dingle faces may end up on the wanted list because of the slippery slope.
