The Dingle appeared to be in big danger after Pollard’s (Chris Chittel) nasty fall while chasing after thieving Sam (James Hooton), but Eric in Emmerdale has some good news for him.

Sam is terrified that he may go to jail on top of the difficulties he has been experiencing lately after almost killing the previous B&B owner. But when he says he won’t be making a declaration against him, Eric throws him a lifeline.

poor and helpless Sam and his family are appreciative that they have one less thing to worry about, particularly in light of their financial difficulties and their concerns for Paddy. Is their rejoicing too soon?

Eric is not one for random, no-strings-attached acts of charity, so this is not as straightforward as everything else he does. Instead, he comes up with a scheme that could endanger Sam and his family.

The cost of living crisis has made it difficult for Sam and Lydia (Karen Blick) to make ends meet, which is what initially led Sam to steal from the store. But in exchange for remaining silent, Eric wants him to perform unpaid labour for him.

This is a devastating setback for Sam, who is already struggling to find enough hours in the day to work and earn enough money to heat their home, place food on the table, and take care of their granddaughter.

The Dingles might become penniless if he is unable to make enough money. Is Eric about to bring the infamous family to an end?
