Rita Simons, a star of EastEnders, revealed she had a complete hysterectomy in a photo she posted from her hospital bed.
On International Women’s Day, the actress who portrayed Roxy Mitchell in the BBC One soap drama posted a photo of herself on social media after her 7-week-old surgery.
“I had a total hysterectomy 7 weeks ago tomorrow,” the soap actress wrote.
Nothing screams “#happyinternationalwomensday” like me posting a photo of myself naked and off my nut on morphine!
“Trying to get the #HRT as close to my old self as we can find has been an absolute RIDE,” the patient said.
It’s still a wild journey, man! Not there yet, but I’m getting there. I’ve been very disciplined with my physical health, going back to the gym and receiving my usual IV drips.
Physically, I couldn’t be in better shape thanks to @nutrizen_iv_vitamins and my #nad+, and I’ve been in contact with so many stunning women who have reached out with their own #hysterectomy tales, which helps me to not feel alone in this.
“To all my ladies, Happy #InternationalWomensDay.”
Rita had the procedure done after consulting with an expert about her “debilitating” periods.
She told OK! Magazine earlier this year, “I was in panto and I came to the stage where I was telling my agent not to book me on dates where I knew I’d be on my period, because it was so difficult to work.
Every month, my emotions were totally out of control. It got to the stage where I must have five days per month where everything is fine before I start ovulating once more and everything goes south.
Health should come first.
Thanks for sharing. I read many of your blog posts, cool, your blog is very good.
