Rosie Bentham, who plays Nicky in Emmerdale, responded to fan rumours about the arrival and said that nobody has yet predicted it “bang on.”
Nicky has been holding his cards quite close to his chest since joining the ITV soap opera last year as the resident nanny at Home Farm. He has no other goals in mind but to do his duties as effectively as possible.
On the surface, Nicky seems to be nothing more than a kind, loving person with a huge heart, but fans believe that he is up to no good. Many have conjectured that he has evil intentions and is using Rosie’s character Gabby to achieve whatever it is that he desires.
Then, of course, there is the fact that his surname is not included in the end credits, which in the soap opera world often indicates that he has a relationship to a character actually present in the town and may even imply that he is working along with someone else.
About the fans’ perceptions of Nicky, actress Rosie Bentham said to Metro.co.uk, “The conjecture is pretty hilarious to look at.” I don’t believe anybody is currently on the money.
“It’s amazing.” Nobody genuinely believes that this person is who he claims to be. Who knows because it’s a soap opera, but Gabby unquestionably views him as this wonderful kid who has entered and has the potential to improve her life.
Although having deep love for Gabby, as viewers are aware, Nicky wasn’t too enthusiastic on dating her since he thought it may jeopardise his employment, particularly if Kim Tate (Claire King) found out.
Yet the two ultimately succumbed to temptation and started a covert relationship since their desire to one another was too powerful to ignore.
About the events we’re now seeing on film, Rosie said, “Gabby and Nicky are really in love with one other.” ‘ They are now extremely in love. As Nicky entered in the door, Gabby surprised the audience with how swiftly she threw herself on him. Nevertheless, such behaviour is characteristic of both Gabby and Bernice, who is undoubtedly Gabby’s mother.
That connects to that, and it’s gratifying to see how similar their attitudes about men are, even though Bernice has never had any success with it. Maybe Gabby will be a little luckier!
The next week, when Caleb Milligan (William Ash) walks in on Gabby and Nicky together, their relationship is placed in jeopardy.
Rosie described the next scenes: “[Caleb] comes in and sees them being extremely nice with each other, I guess we could be kissing at that point or something like that in the kitchen and he walks in!”
It seems like this has fully blown all cover since that is where it is now.
Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and ITVX on weeknights at 7:30 p.m.
