Next week in Emmerdale, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) demonstrates that she is not to be trifled with by channelling her inner Kim Tate (Claire King) in an effort to put Caleb Milligan (William Ash) in his proper place.
As fans are aware, the young entrepreneur and businesswoman has been having a secret romance with nanny Nicky (Lewis Cope) since since they shared a bed a few weeks ago.
At first, Nicky fiercely tried to avoid Gabby’s allures while maintaining his professionalism, but the two gave in to temptation since their connection was just too great.
After a few flutters, they decided to keep seeing one other, but they agreed to do it in secret since they knew that if their relationship were revealed, it would certainly cause a lot of problems.
But, Gabby and Nicky behave erratically the next week, engaging in sex whenever the chance arises and jeopardising their ability to keep their relationship a secret.
The circumstances of next week’s episodes will be described by the actress Rosie Betham as “they simply can’t keep their hands off one other!” “At the moment, every scenario is basically snogging or something like.”
Lewis Cope and I have simply become used to it lately, she chuckled. “Well, we’ve had to kiss now, whatever,” is all that can be said.

In the forthcoming scenes, Nicky’s contract comes up for renewal. When the nanny learns that Kim has hired him on a permanent basis, she is overjoyed, and he and Gabby slip upstairs to celebrate in their own special manner.
Rosie described the relevant sequences as follows: “They almost get caught by Dawn, who almost finds them together, which makes it very real for Gabby and she sort of says: “We can’t keep sneaking around all the time, it’s just not sustainable”
When they can’t keep their hands off one another and no one else is there, they can’t merely remain in the same home. Dawn doesn’t notice, which is okay, but Caleb does catch them!

Caleb enters and observes them engaging in excessively cordial behaviour. When he goes in, it’s still there, and I assume they may have been kissing or doing something similar in the kitchen at that time.
Like Nicky, Caleb is difficult to read; viewers have no clue of what he is up to. Yet, considering that he has settled in well at Home Farm, it is plausible to infer that he will attempt to use his discoveries as leverage.
He has no idea, however, that Gabby is not to be trifled with. When her efforts to earn his favour fail, the cutthroat mother of one channels her inner Kim Tate and uses Caleb’s ambition for his company as leverage for her own negotiations.

‘To win him over she says: “You’re trying to get in on this business and it’s also my business so you’d better keep me sweet as well”, revealed Rosie.
‘She does a really good job of deflecting it and turning it around and fingers crossed Caleb doesn’t spill it because they’re not ready to tell Kim yet.
‘Gabby just turns very Kim-like. She’s panicking but her brain’s thinking: “What can I do? What can I say right now to beg him to not tell Kim?”. She turns all professional on him and goes: “I’m not being funny but if you’re wanting a bit of whatever’s on Kim’s table, that’s also my table here” type of thing.
She thinks to herself, “I handled it nicely,” feeling pleased of herself. I excel at that kind of stuff. So hoping Caleb restrains himself from speaking!
Audiences are aware that Caleb is intent to wipe out everything at Home Farm, so he will probably need to bide his time before doing so. Yet, Gabby will probably demonstrate next week that she’s not someone you want to offend, so maybe the cunning businessman will run into trouble.
Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and ITVX on weeknights at 7:30 p.m.
