Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) recently revealed that she was raped on Coronation Street to her mother Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
A few weeks before, the character spent the evening getting wasted and having fun with Aaron (James Craven).
Amy, however, crawled into bed and finally dozed asleep after claiming that she was intoxicated and feeling sick.
Then, even though Amy was not in a situation to give her permission, Aaron sat down next to her, kissed her, and started having intercourse with her.
For Amy, the aftermath has been perplexing and upsetting. Amy first approached Aaron and said that he had raped her, but Aaron refused to believe her and insisted that they both desired sex.
This week, as Amy was burdened by everything, she came clean to Summer (Harriet Bibby) and then her mother soon after.
Tracy begins putting up fliers about Aaron as she approaches, taking things into her own hands.
Abi (Sally Carman) realises the truth and confronts Aaron after Mary (Patti Clare) discovers one on the flower shop’s printer.
Tracy phones the police station in the meanwhile and stays glued to the counter, telling the desk sergeant that she won’t go until Amy’s accusation of rape is taken seriously.
Amy (Simon Gregson) joins Steve as they make their way to the station when Amy realises that others are aware of her trauma.
As they arrive, they see Tracy getting ready to speak with Suki, a reporter for the Gazette.
Amy implores her mother to reconsider, but what will Tracy do?
