An EastEnders fan mistakenly identified one of Caffe Nero’s paintings as Barry Evans (Shaun Williamson), which has created quite a stir online.
With his unfortunate love life and comic moments, car salesman Barry has had quite the influence on soap opera viewers over the years.
But as of late, it seems that he could be lounging about on Caffe Nero’s walls.
Ruth Husko took a photo of the artwork while at the renowned coffee shop in Islington and posted it on Twitter, joking that she had to do a double look to be sure it wasn’t the well-known soap character.
She continued by saying that Shaun Williamson, the actor who portrayed Barry for ten years, was often seen wearing a purple shirt similar to the one in the artwork.
Her followers had quite the response to the tweet; many thought it was amusing how much Barry resembled the picture and praised the business for choosing it.
Barry was a legend of EastEnders, and fans were heartbroken when tragic images depicting his passing aired in 2004.
After being married to Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), he was tragically killed after being thrown down a cliff by his wife. He smashed his skull on the ground.
