In future EastEnders scenes, Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) will go on a day trip with Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), who is dying, according to cast members who have been sighted shooting on location.
As fans are aware, Lola had a series of seizures before receiving a diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumour last year. She was then informed by doctors that her condition was fatal.
Since then, the hairdresser has been receiving treatment in an effort to extend her life.
However, lately, when Lola started experiencing episodes of memory loss and drowsiness, an MRI scan showed that the chemotherapy had ceased working.
When Lola was later called to the hospital, she and her husband Jay received the devastating news that she now only had six months to live.
Future scenes, scheduled to appear the following week, will show Lola starting to organise her affairs, including making important choices for her daughter Lexi’s (Isabella Brown) future.
But in the future, she and Jay will also take a day trip to the beach since actors Jay Brown and Danielle Harold have been seen shooting on site.
Expect lots of reminiscence as the newlyweds go towards the rough waves and take in their surroundings in what will undoubtedly be very emotional moments. They were married in a lovely ceremony earlier this year.
After pausing for a moment to reflect, Jay walks up to his wife and kisses her on the head as they continue to cherish the moment.
In the next months, Lola’s illness will become worse, and the makeup artist in these images will need a wheelchair to go about.
During her fundraising event, Lola told her family the news she had learned about her prognosis.
Her family were devastated by the news, with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) pointing out that he’d put all of his money in the charity bucket if it would help Lola get better.
Lola admitted that there was nothing else doctors could do for her, which left daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) heartbroken.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
