Spoilers for Coronation Street: George shakes Eileen awake.

In all honesty, it would irritate us (Image: ITV).

On Coronation Street, Tony Maudsley’s character George Shuttleworth never ceases to amaze us. In following episodes, he tosses the bedclothes about and ruins them.

No, he can’t sleep; not that.

Fortunately, there’s no need to worry too much since George tells Eileen (Sue Cleaver) that he can’t sleep because he worries that Rest Easy, a rival, is attempting to undercut him.

Billy (Daniel Brocklebank), who is on hand to assist (no, not in that way), proposes that George take up model-making as a pastime since it would help him forget his troubles.

George’s issues have previously interfered with Eileen’s efforts to obtain her necessary beauty sleep.

Todd (Gareth Pierce) and Sean (Antony Cotton) worried that George was seeing another lady when she initially mentioned the notion of his sleeping around.

In fact, it became out that George suffers from sleep apnoea, a disorder in which a person sometimes stops breathing while they are asleep. If it is not identified and treated, it may be dangerous, but fortunately, George’s condition can be improved by a mask that he must wear while he sleeps.

We can only hope that a solution can be found since an Eileen who doesn’t get enough sleep is an Eileen no one wants to cross.
