Over the past few weeks, it has become increasingly apparent that Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) still don’t know a lot about one another.
In subsequent moments, Sonia will have to confront an unaware Reiss with a personal matter as their relationship hits a rough patch.
Sonia becomes delighted as Reiss starts to organise a large celebration. Who else must Reiss host a party for given that it is about to be her birthday?
Sonia confides in Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that she can’t recall the last time she felt so loved and that she isn’t accustomed to being treated with such respect.
Her illusion is quickly dispelled, though, when she realises that the party wasn’t really for her after all, but rather for King Charles’ Coronation.
Poor Reiss doesn’t even realise that Sonia’s birthday is approaching, leaving her torn between telling him and keeping it a secret.
Reiss appears to just want to speak about the Coronation celebration, and Sonia quickly becomes tired of hearing about it.
Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley), who has just made a love effort towards Kathy, makes her feel even worse, so she asks him for help.
Sonia mulls about giving Rocky the truth when he says that they need to get to know one other better.
Will she leave Reiss to enjoy his Coronation party or will she deny that her birthday is coming up soon?
Or will their attempt to get to know one another better take them somewhere they’ve never been before?
The audience will be aware that Reiss has been keeping a secret considerably more significant than his birthday.
He has been seen calling his wife in secret on a number of times.
Will Sonia find out that Reiss lied to her?
