This week, as members of the village struggle with escape strategies, significant revelations, and other issues, Emmerdale is seeing more than its fair share of dramatic events unfold.
Beginning the week, Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) got permission from her daughter Rhona to move to Ecuador and start a new life with her lover Faye (Jane Gurnett).
Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) raised concerns about the move’s authenticity last night after looking into certain charity-related issues. Mary responded defensively, urging Suzy to leave. This caused the situation to grow more problematic.
More information about some of the other dramatic storylines playing out in one of the longest-running soap operas in the country is expected to be revealed tonight.
As he watches new mother Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) struggle with both Reuben and some shopping, Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) becomes visibly upset and eventually offers to help them. While they are conversing, Chloe initially corrects him, questioning why she would require assistance from her “sperm donor.”
But finally Chloe admits that she feels lonely the most at night, and Sarah finds them in an embrace. Sarah reprimands them, and Chloe promises her it won’t happen again, but Sarah isn’t persuaded.
While Sarah is away, Mack awkwardly inquires about Reuben, and when Chloe invites him to go for a walk with them, he is happy. Mack’s happiness, however, is short-lived, and he is struck speechless when Chloe informs him that she will be returning Rueben to Scotland.
In the end, Mack is compelled to bid his kid a tearful goodbye.
When Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) both run into Tom King (James Chase) at The Hide, it makes for an awkward reunion as Tom King (James Chase) continues to struggle with his unresolved grief over his father. Jimmy’s anger at the idea of Tom ignoring him is impossible to hide.
The two originally started getting closer when it was revealed last week that Tom was the enigmatic person keeping watch on Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper). On the other hand, Belle is concerned by Tom’s hesitation in this episode.
In another part of the community, Caleb Milligan’s (William Ash) hatred for Kim Tate (Claire King) is intensified, and Nicky is shocked to learn of Caleb’s most recent action.
ITV broadcasts Emmerdale weeknights at 7:30 p.m.
