While she awaited Janine Butcher’s (Charlie Brooks) sentencing in EastEnders, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) had to walk on eggshells.
In recent scenes, she discovered the length of the Walford bad girl’s sentence, and the information shocked her.
Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) sensed that something must be really wrong when Linda, also known as Albert Square’s greatest Royal Family fan, said that she didn’t care about the Coronation.
He quickly deduced that Janine’s sentence must have been publicised, and a short Google search confirmed his suspicion that he was correct.
After all she had put the Carters through, Alfie and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) were horrified to read that she had received a five-year sentence.
To add salt to the injury, Janine let Linda take the fall for the vehicle accident that sent Linda to the hospital.
She conducted a high-speed automobile pursuit when her falsehoods were exposed, which culminated to Mick jumping over a cliff and being lost at sea.
Alfie made an effort to soothe Linda, who was hiding upstairs and was still in shock at the punishment, by arguing that it was an absurd sentence that did neither of them any justice.
Devastated Linda emphasised that although Janine would be released from jail in three years, Linda would have to serve a life sentence alone.
LINDA, SHALL SHE EVER HEAL?
She confessed that since Mick has passed away, she has no other options and that each day without him is difficult when Alfie offered to take the kids off her hands so she could have some space.
In a moving confession, Linda said that she envied Jay Brown and Billy Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick and Perry Fenwick), who were able to say goodbye to Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) since they knew she was dying.
She expressed her sadness at not having the opportunity to adore Mick before he was unjustly taken from her.
When Alfie suggested postponing the coronation celebration, Linda said there was nothing to postpone since she hadn’t even had time to consider it.
Even though everyone would be anticipating a party, she stated that she would be unable to have one without Mick.
Can Alfie convince her to reconsider?
