Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), who is the mother of Reuben, panics in heartbreaking moments in tonight’s Emmerdale episode.

After returning from his honeymoon with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Reuben’s father Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is anxious to show Chloe and their kid that he is there for them even if he is keeping them a secret from his new wife.

Reuben and Chloe argue when Reuben visits Chloe to check how she is doing. Chloe refers to Reuben as nothing more than a “sperm donor,” which obviously irks Mack.

With Mack pulling her in for an embrace, Chloe gradually starts to open up, saying that she is lonely and is suffering more than she is letting on. A shocked Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) is frightened to see the two of them together.

In the most recent episode of the soap opera, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) is shocked to learn that Chloe has no intention of telling Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson), who is away on a course, about her plans to move to Scotland.

Although Chloe insists it’s for the best, the new mother’s focus soon shifts when she notices something isn’t quite right with Reuben.

Reuben’s health worsens when Chloe hurries him to the doctor, who then refers him to the hospital (ITV picture).

Chloe brings the baby to visit Dr. Liam when she notices he has a fever. Dr. Liam is worried about the baby’s symptoms and advises that they take him right away to the hospital.

When Chloe learns that Reuben most likely has bacterial meningitis, her entire world crumbles, and Mack struggles to watch his infant suffer while keeping his relationship with the child a secret.

Will this terrifying diagnosis reveal that Reuben is his son, leaving him in shock?

As the news of Reuben’s condition triggers memories of their own suffering, Chas and Paddy reunite (ITV).

Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), both shocked by the news of Rueben, take a time to reflect on their own experiences with baby loss.

The former couple reunites to mourn the death of their daughter Grace as word of the infant’s health spreads around the hamlet.

Grace was diagnosed with bilateral renal agenesis, a disorder in which the kidneys do not form, and she passed away only 29 minutes after giving birth.

In an effort to process his feelings towards Reuben, Paddy visits Grace’s tree after being assaulted by a wall of sadness once again. Will he be able to handle this new wave of suffering?
