The new co-owners of the pub will be unveiled on EastEnders the following week, setting up a classic Queen Vic clash with massive scenes.

Would you want a not-so-small peek into the action? Buckle up because it’s going to be an event to remember with the coronation and Eurovision on the schedule. We have over 70 photographs to whet your appetite till these shows air (May 8 to 12).

When Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) receives the Presumption of Death document for Mick (Danny Dyer), she sobs.

Linda feels terrible as Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) rallies around her and explains Mick’s passing to a perplexed Ollie. She then tells Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) that she’s merely keeping Sharon and Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) close until her mystery buyer decides what to do.

Linda is quick to puncture Nish and Suki’s (Balvinder Sopal) bubble when they arrive with their friends to show off the tavern and advertise it as their “new acquisition.” As Linda’s mother Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), the new co-owner, enters, a huge fight breaks out between Sharon and her after the truth is revealed.

The Square is shocked by Elaine’s reappearance as she charms some customers while putting others in their place. Alfie and Linda attempt to make amends with Sharon when she storms out, but the landlady’s efforts to mend fences may go in vain.

Elaine rejects Nish’s intimidation attempts, but things take a shocking turn when The Vic is vandalised in the middle of the night by trespassers, shattering Linda’s glass flamingo that Nish had given her and leaving it conspicuously on the bar.

On another part of the Square, Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), who is quitting her job, bids Denise Fox (Diane Parish) a tearful farewell as she finishes her last shift at the salon.

Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) starts to feel as if he is already working too much and has to work even more to support her. Prior to Kathy Beale’s (Gillian Taylforth) Eurovision party, when Buck’s Fizz’s Cheryl Baker makes a surprise appearance, Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) asks him to pick up Lexi (Isabella Brown), but he forgets, upsetting Lola and Jay.

As Lola screams in terror, Ben, frustrated with himself, downs some alcohol before getting into a fight with Vinny. Ben then realises that he’s gone too far.

On Monday, May 8, EastEnders will play these moments on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
