In EastEnders, everything is changing at the Queen Vic, but for no one more so than Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).

After the tragic abduction of Mick Carter, Linda was obliged to sell the Vic and sought out Elaine Peacock, the mother, played by Harriet Thorpe, as her new buyer.

When she decides she wants to make significant changes to the way things are conducted, she will quickly find that having her mother around is not always a bed of roses.

According to actress Kellie Bright, ‘Linda is stuck between a rock and a hard place because her mom has rescued her and purchased half the bar, but at the same time, she knows what Elaine is like and that she’s a force of nature’.

Linda doesn’t want to have to bargain with her mother in order to protect her tavern or keep things going the way she and Mick used to.

“I think a lot of us are afraid of change, and Linda is going through a lot of change right now, which is very unsettling.”

If having her mother nearby wasn’t enough, The Knights will soon come in Walford, bringing with them a whole new family.

While Kellie is excited to begin a new chapter in her EastEnders adventure, Linda is still ignorant of Elaine’s intentions to move her new guy in.

She described it as “playing a book of two halves.” Despite the fact that I’m a guest on the same programme, “One book is finished, and now it’s the beginning of a new book.”

In the same way that Danny Dyer and I were 10 years ago, Harriet Thorpe and the performers portraying the Knights are just beginning their adventure on the programme.

But I’m now travelling with them, which I think is fantastic for Linda’s character because it gives her a fresh new perspective.

There is a brand-new family dynamic to explore, and The Vic certainly needs a large family to liven things up! Because of all those factors, it’s pretty great.

Although Linda and Elaine may initially be at odds with one another, Kellie believes they may make up until something else always sets them off once again.

“I believe it is similar to mother-daughter relationships and real life.” They will sometimes fight, and when the Knights arrive, there will be a lot more drama.

“It won’t be easy, but I believe they will have their moments of coming together as well,” I said.
