In future EastEnders scenes, Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) is given terrible news after collapsing outside the gym.
Following a string of seizures that worried Lola and her family at the end of the previous year, a brain tumour was found to be the cause of her untreatable condition.
After receiving therapy to extend Lola’s life for many months, it was discovered that it was no longer effective.
She was saddened to find that she only had six months to live, but she was determined to go on and try to give her daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) as normal of a life as she could.
After months of suffering with the discomfort, Lola recently decided, after much thought, to stop working.
Tameka Empson’s character, Kim Fox, organises a karaoke-filled farewell party for her.
Lola feels overburdened and goes outside for some fresh air as her family and friends arrive for the goodbye celebration at the salon.
However, as soon as the partygoers learn she hasn’t arrived back, panic quickly sets in.
She collapses quickly, and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) soon discovers her on the ground outside the gym, disoriented.
She understands that the incident has impaired her speech and movement when Billy and Jay (Jamie Borthwick) take her home.
The next morning, Lola has Billy, Jay, and Ben (Max Bowden) at her side as she awakens in the hospital.
She is approached by a doctor who breaks the devastating news that her palliative chemotherapy treatment failed.
How much time is left for Lola?
