In Coronation Street, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease, but neither Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove), Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell), nor Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) are aware of this.
Paul’s life was drastically altered a few weeks ago when he learned that he had MND, a condition that will ultimately claim his life.
Paul recently made the decision to take on some shady activities for Damon (Ciaran Griffiths) in order to escape his reality; one of these jobs led to his incarceration when he stole Rufus’ automobile.
Paul discusses a new medicine he discovered online that purports to treat MND with Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), disregarding the possibility that he may find himself in jail once again.
Sadly, Paul must focus on his trial as the expert dashes his hopes.
Billy confides in Dee-Dee that he is really concerned about Paul and wants to know what is happening.
Dee-Dee is wondering where Paul is as she makes her way to court.
Paul is urged to do the right thing, go to court, and enjoy the life he has left by Damon as it becomes clear that he is in Victoria Garden and that he has been there for some time.
When Paul does arrive, he is unaware that Billy is also making his way to the courtroom.
How much will Billy spend, though?
Paul’s health will undoubtedly be disclosed to the court by Dee-Dee, but will Billy also learn about it at that time?
