What if we told you that Jessie Wallace, the actress who plays the fiery, animal print-wearing Kat Slater in EastEnders, wasn’t her true name?
Recently, Jessie posted a tale from a buddy on Instagram that disclosed the identity she previously used.
The image, which featured Jessie grinning among three companions, was a snip from an issue of The Guardian dated 1985.
The event was characterised as “a very random day being in The Guardian newspaper,” and Jessie added that it was a “trippy day,” adding an emoji for laughter.
The actress was identified as Karen Wallis underneath the photograph.
After 23 years on the soap opera, Jessie will be well-known to EastEnders viewers by her stage name.
Jessie became well-known because to iconic sequences in which Kat revealed that she was Zoe Slater’s mother. Over the years, her portrayal in the part earned her multiple honours.
She just uploaded a snapshot on Instagram showing her awards gallery.
“Just spring cleaning and silver polishing!” Me? Displaying off? Give me a favour! She wrote the post’s caption.
Natalie Cassidy, who plays Sonia Fowler in EastEnders, jumped in with the following comment: “You should show off because you are AMAZING.”
You’ll soon need some scaffolding for that groaning sideboard, said Kacey Ainsworth, who portrayed the legendary Little Mo Slater.
In a recent episode of the show, Kat was last seen defending her ex-husband Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) from the new Queen Vic landlord Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).
On Christmas Day, she is scheduled to marry Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), but owing to a flash-forward episode from February, viewers are aware that the event will be tragic and result in the death of a Walford resident.
Will Phil and Kat be able to go down the aisle, or is Phil’s time running out?
