Recent events on EastEnders took a tragic turn when Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) condition gravely worsened as a result of a fall outside the gym.
Since Lola was identified as having an untreatable brain tumour last year, viewers will be aware that she is passing away.
In recent scenes, she discovered that the chemotherapy she was receiving to extend her life had ceased working, and that she now only had six months to live.
Lola had continued working at the Salon, trying to push through and go on with life as usual.
It quickly became impossible for her to endure the suffering every day, and she was forced to make the painful choice to resign from her position in order to spend more time with her family.
Though she didn’t want to go quietly, Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) planned a unique karaoke goodbye party for her friends and family.
As the celebration got going, the excitement quickly got to sick Lola, who went outdoors to get some air.
The other partygoers quickly recognised she was absent and that calls to her phone were going unanswered.
The ladies set out to find her out of concern.
Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), who ultimately discovered her on the ground outside the gym, was distraught and alarmed.
As Billy assisted her in going home, she begged him not to let her daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) see her in such a state.
Billy and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick), who were at number 18, hurried about to try to make Lola comfortable.
She got more upset, however, since her arm wasn’t functioning correctly and her speech was slurred.
Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) was with Lexi as Lola yelled at them to leave, making poor Lexi frightened.
Her family looked at each other with alarm as Lola pointed out that there was a severe problem.
Will Lola and Lexi be able to reconcile before it’s too late?
