In a recent Coronation Street episode, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was hospitalised due to another attack and eventually learned what was causing his chest issues.
When Freddie, the café owner’s dog, chose to run after a cat while he was out on a walk, his owner became frightened.
Roy chased after the puppy out of fear that he might get lost and caught him before anything bad happened.
Roy, on the other hand, who was doubling over and experiencing chest agony, couldn’t say the same.
Fortunately, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), Evelyn’s closest friend, was quick to provide assistance and take no chances by immediately phoning for an ambulance.
Evelyn chastised him for chasing after Freddie and endangering his life in the hospital after he had passed various tests.
Evelyn said in a touching moment that she couldn’t risk losing another buddy after losing Cerberus in heartbreaking circumstances.
A doctor entered the beautiful moment and handed him Roy’s test findings.
They were advised by the doctor that Roy had angina and that his coronary artery had substantially constricted.
Roy inquired about possible drug treatment, but the doctor advised having a stent placed to expand the artery as the best course of action.
Roy decided to schedule the surgery after the doctor gave them assurances that it would be simple.
Roy was urged by Evelyn to explain the situation to his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), but he was unable to.
Instead, he made the decision to take a vacation so that he could rest without Nina knowing.
There was no going back when Evelyn offered to watch after Freddie.
Will Roy truly continue to keep Nina in the dark about this, or will she eventually figure anything out?
