Next week in Emmerdale, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) will get a major shock when Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope), unable to maintain the façade any longer, outs himself as homosexual on the wedding day.
As fans are aware, Nicky is conspiring with cunning father Caleb (William Ash), who is out to exact revenge on hidden dad Frank Tate (Norman Bowler), who was infamously killed by Kim (Claire King) back in the 1990s.
Of course, Kim is oblivious that Caleb is trying to get her and thinks of him as a business partner who has her best interests at heart. She also doesn’t know that he has been scheming with his son Nicky to seize her riches.
Despite being homosexual and having a secret relationship with Ally (Josh Horrocks), Nicky’s involvement in the whole hoax was seducing Gabby with his charm and good looks. Nicky was successful in his aim.
The following week, Ally, who is madly in love with Nicky, meets with his ex-boyfriend outside the village and begs him not to wed Gabby. Instead, she suggests that they be married.
Nicky is further confused by the offer since he wants to be free to truly see Ally but also doesn’t want to disappoint his father. However, things get even more difficult when Caleb changes the rules and insists that they must play a much longer game than they had originally intended.
Caleb, how long have we been talking?
Nicky informs his dad that he is sick of the act and wants out. As thoughts turn to the upcoming wedding, Gabby puts on her dress before telling Nicky that she wants him to adopt Thomas.
Nicky, who is overwhelmed, attempts to keep his cool as he declares that he cannot participate in the wedding since he is gay.
The revelation, as you would expect, throws Gabby for a major loop as she believed she had finally found her ideal partner and that a happy ending was in sight.
Meanwhile, Caleb is devastated to find that Nicky has cancelled the wedding.
The plotter, who advised his son to end things with Ally after learning of his sexual orientation, threatened to “destroy” him if he foiled the scheme, and that’s precisely what he does, lashing out, leading to a violent altercation between the father and son.
Nicky is brutally punched in the face by Caleb after he takes him and holds him against the wall.
After attacking him, he forces Nicky to take the blame for emptying the Home Farm bank accounts, leaving the nanny in shock.
Horrific.
The situation, however, takes an unexpected turn when Caleb logs into Kim’s bank accounts and discovers that the funds have already been removed. When challenged by an irate Kim, the schemer’s mask crumbles out of frustration.
But will his actual identity finally come to light? Will he succeed in his goals? Or will Kim ruin his scheme and have the last laugh?
