Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) informed Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) on Wednesday’s (May 31) episode of Coronation Street that there was no way in hell he would be going to Justin Rutherford’s (Andrew Still) trial.
Ryan had learned of Karen’s strategy to support her brother, in which she had told Justin’s attorney about Daisy’s relationship with Ryan and how manipulative she had been in the past.
Daisy was afraid Justin would escape after a horrified Ryan declared he wouldn’t be assisting her anymore.
Tonight (June 1), as the trial went on, Daniel (Rob Mallard) was the first to testify.
He was questioned on his friendship with Daisy and about Justin’s earlier deeds. The defence attorney brought up the incident when Justin broke into Number 1 to visit Daisy, claiming that because the rear door wasn’t genuinely locked, Daisy could have lied to him to hide her true feelings for Justin.
Once Daniel had completed being questioned and was backed into a corner, Daisy was the next to be interrogated.
With fear coursing through her veins, Daisy was questioned about the texts she had with Justin as well as the incident in which she had him detained. She was also asked whether she had intentionally provoked him so that Craig (Colson Smith) would be forced to take action.
Daisy’s life on social media was also questioned. We are aware that many users of these sites feel the need to present an idealised picture of their lives on social media, and it turns out that Daisy was doing the same thing while Justin was abusing her.
Daisy’s conflicting messages, according to the barrister, rendered her untrustworthy. Daisy was in tears when her time in the witness box came to a close because she believed Justin and his team had done enough to guarantee his victory.
Ryan then showed up.
Ryan seems determined and ready, but is he really ready for Justin to testify knowing that he would lie and embellish the truth?
