In Emmerdale, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) continues to experience shock after shock. She just made the heartbreaking revelation that Reuben Harris, the infant daughter of Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), and her new husband Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb), was fathered by Mackenzie. Despite Mackenzie asking for her pardon, she told him that their relationship was ended because she couldn’t live with his deception.
Recently, Charity enjoyed catching a peek of Mack and Moses (Arthur Cockroft) spending some time together at the playground. She yet said that she wanted a divorce, ostensibly ending any chance of a reunion.
It won’t be as easy for Charity to move on as she would have anticipated because Chloe, Mackenzie, and Reuben will be present in the village all the time.
Future episodes will include Sarah (Katie Hill) wondering whether to inform Charity that Mackenzie and Chloe have been spending more time together. Sarah is aware of how heartbroken Charity was when she learned that Sarah had known for months that Mackenzie was the father of Chloe’s child.
The following day, when it is Sarah’s birthday, Moses, Ryan (James Moore), and Noah (Jack Downham) swoop in and sing Happy Birthday to her. Charity is aware that she has to invite her friend Chloe to the surprise party for the benefit of her grandchild.
Charity makes a really daring and generous act, but it backfires on her when Mackenzie also shows up at the party and brings Reuben with him. Poor Charity had to see him act like a proud papa at her own granddaughter’s celebration.
She is reassured by Mackenzie that he has no romantic involvement with Chloe and just has a relationship with Reuben.
Despite the fact that Mack is an expert at just being able to see as far as the tip of his nose, it won’t be long before he and Chloe are kissing. Mack catching Reuben’s first smile draws their attention elsewhere, and they fail to realise Charity has witnessed their kiss.
As the anguish of what she just seen settles in and she learns Mackenzie has lied to her yet again, she is understandably furious. She describes what she witnessed to Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and makes a promise to exact revenge.
