At the British Soap Awards, EastEnders actor Shane Richie stopped to chat with Metro.co.uk and hinted at a fresh Alfie Moon plot.
Last year, Alfie returned to the Square in search of Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), the love of his life, only to discover that she was blissfully engaged to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
But this didn’t stop him from chasing her, and eventually Alfie and Phil got into a heated argument.
Actor Shane said that he is “enjoying Alfie being single” now that Alfie has accepted the fact that he and Kat won’t be together.
After Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was forced to fire him from his job at the Queen Vic, Shane jested that another Walford woman could be smitten with him.
Shane pointed to Harriet Thorpe, who plays Elaine Peacock, and stated, “That was down to this lady here who, in my opinion, is burning a candle for Alfie.” Elaine may have feelings for Alfie, I believe.
In a graver tone, Shane continued by saying that Alfie will soon have a “nice” plot.
“There will soon be a nice story…” Evidently, I’m unable to inform you! My standard response is, “Oh, I’d love to tell you, but I can’t!”
However, there is a beautiful scenario in which Alfie receives a light touch. Something goes in his favour just a little bit.”
Shane is holding his cards close to his chest when it comes to whether or not a reunion with Kat is still in the works.
Somebody referred to us as Burton and Taylor. You see, we break up, reunite, and then break up once more. But who can predict what will happen? perhaps anything Maybe not.
We can only wait to find out by continuing to watch, which is the only thing we can do.
