When it was recently revealed that Thomas Law would be returning to the soap opera as Peter Beale, EastEnders fans were shocked and ecstatic.
His comeback coincides with Adam Woodyatt’s and Michelle Collins’s much-anticipated ones as Ian and Cindy Beale. Cindy was formally declared “dead,” but in a shocking turn of events, it was discovered that she is in fact still alive and has been living in France with Ian and Peter as a witness.
The twist—that Cindy Beale is also the missing Rose Knight, George’s wife and mother of Gina and Anna—and the further connection to Albert Square were also disclosed in a special episode. ‘This special episode is just the beginning of some exciting new stories for the Beales, who will return to the Square full time later in the year,’ said show creator Chris Clenshaw.
Between 2006 and 2010, Thomas Law portrayed Peter Beale; following his departure, Ben Hardy and Dayle Hudson filled the void.
In July of last year, the Peter character left Walford after abandoning his family. The family, especially younger brother Bobby (Clay Milner Russell), is eager to see him again because Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Rocky (Brian Conley) are getting married soon.
Thomas Law expressed his joy at resuming his previous job to supporters.
It’s an amazing thrill to be back in Walford as Peter Beale, he added, adding that he had hoped for a return to the Square throughout the years but never imagined it would actually happen. I’ve enjoyed seeing both old and new faces, and now that Cindy has returned, it will be fascinating to see the character once more.

Chris Clenshaw continued, ‘We’re thrilled to have him back permanently, but one thing is for sure, the Beales’ comeback will be nothing less than combustible for the Square.
Thomas had to leave another long-standing employment because it sounds like he will have a full-on work schedule.
Since the second season of the ITV drama The Bay, which aired in 2021, Thomas has been a part of the show. In the crime drama centred around Morecambe Bay, he played DC Eddie Martin.
Everyone at The Bay is upset about Tom’s departure, an ITV source is cited as saying. Both his co-stars and the audience loved him.
