It wasn’t long after Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) returned to Emmerdale that she had an intriguing business concept. After on occasion caring for some of the village’s little children, she realised that Emmerdale needed a nursery right there in the community.
Amy Walsh said of her, “She’s always looking for the next career move.” She will put her heart and soul into anything, regardless of whether it succeeds or fails. She simply cares so much about giving Frankie a future that she didn’t have. I find it admirable to see powerful ladies. My life literally mirrors my job life and my personal life!
Obviously, such a thing is not free. Tracy quickly knew that her concept would require considerable capital to execute, from renting space to purchasing equipment and arranging all necessary insurance, but she was confident she could obtain a loan from the bank to fund it.
In following episodes, she is devastated when her loan application is rejected, but a lifeline is then extended. After overhearing Nate (Jurell Carter) and Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) discussing Tracy’s difficulties in obtaining finance for her project, Caleb Milligan (William Ash) approaches Tracy and offers to invest in the nursery as her business partner.
Although it seems like the ideal answer, there is a significant disadvantage. In order to further his plan against Kim Tate (Claire King), Caleb demonstrated that he was willing to see Moira’s farm destroyed (Natalie J. Robb). As a result, Caleb has not been the most well-liked member of the Dingle family. Nate quickly reminds his wife that Cain (Jeff Hordley) will be upset if he believes she has partnered with Caleb.

Tracy charges him with having more regard for his father’s sentiments than for his wife and daughter. She is indignant to learn that Nate and Mack (Lawrence Robb) would be pitted against one another for a job at Moira’s farm. As Moira and Cain appear prepared to perhaps fire Nate, she decides that she won’t let concerns about Cain’s reaction prevent her from accepting Caleb’s offer of investment.
She gives Caleb a call and offers to work with him on a business venture. Will Tracy’s hesitation compel him to change his mind or will he still be eager to invest?
What will happen to Cain’s relationship with his new daughter-in-law if he does agree?
