Leaving acting for a totally different job, EastEnders star

Liam Bergin, a former EastEnders actor, has decided to pursue a new career as a yoga teacher after studying the discipline in India.

The role of Danny Mitchell, the estranged half-brother of the famous Mitchell sisters, Ronnie and Roxy (Samantha Womack and Rita Simons), is possibly Liam’s most well-known role among soap opera viewers.

When he gate-crashed his father Archie’s funeral in 2010 and declared that he was his son, he initially came to our attention.

The truth is that Ronnie and Roxy are actually his half-siblings through their mother Glenda Mitchell (Glynis Barber).

He spent several weeks working the bar at the Queen Vic, but after kissing Amira Masood, he decides to leave.

A month later he was back on the Square, but things quickly got ugly when Glenda discovered that he had made up the fact that he was Archie’s son.

He left the square following this four-month stay but returned in December 2016 with his mother Glenda to bring Roxy, who was battling a cocaine addiction, home.

They soon received an invitation to Ronnie’s terrible wedding, but after the sisters’ tragic deaths, they eventually left the square once more.

Liam’s work has since changed, and he is now a yoga instructor.

Liam learned the technique while travelling to India and has since been passing it on, frequently sharing tutorials on his Instagram.

In addition to this, he has continued to work in the entertainment sector by taking on theatre directing roles.

His most recent accomplishment was directing Morally Grey at the Lightbox Theatre in Bristol.

While Rita Simons recently announced that she would be joining Hollyoaks, where Glynis Barber already plays gangland boss Norma, Liam’s on-screen family are still active in the industry.

Sam Womack will join the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk for the pantomime season at the Birmingham Hippodrome, according to other reports.

She is now starring in the UK run of the musical 42nd Street.
