Unexpectedly, Emmerdale has revealed that two characters will be leaving the hamlet, but fear not—it won’t be a permanent departure.
In the July 26 episode, Tom King (James Chase) said he was prepared for “Venice tomorrow” as he made his way to his car with a packed suitcase.
Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and he appear to be boarding a plane for a romantic retreat, but Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) had other plans for him.
The newcomer advised that in order to help Tom mend his wounded heart, he bring Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) along for the voyage.
Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson), who recently learned that he was adopted and that Rishi is not his true father, and Rishi are currently at odds.
Rishi is trying to mend the divide between them because Jai is expected to get married in upcoming episodes, but thus yet he has had no luck.
Suni urged Rishi to come along as well, joking that Belle wouldn’t mind if he came along, and he jokingly reminded Tom that he is his plus one.
Tom appeared shocked and insisted that the planned dream vacation would be more of a “nightmare” than a “romantic meal for four.”

Tom only recently made his first visit to the Emmerdale community after a ten-year absence, and he and his uncle Jimmy King (Nick Miles) had an argument about the circumstances of the death of his grandpa, who bore his name.
When he discovered that his father Carl King (Tom Lister) was responsible for killing Tom King in 2006, he was shocked.
When they got back to the hamlet, Tom and Belle got along right away and were able to restart their romance.
Producer Jane Hudson commented, “Of course Tom and Belle have a history, which they see each other and rekindle, and we will be on a journey with Tom and Belle for quite a while as we play out the story,” when Tom’s return to the hamlet was originally revealed.
Will the couple’s next romantic getaway improve their bond or cause relational fractures to appear?
