In the July 26 episode of Coronation Street, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was incensed when she learned Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) had her paternity test results after having earlier thrown them in a trash can.
After learning that Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) had a panic attack in court, Sarah did this a few days ago.
Adam misinterpreted his wife when she told him not to be concerned about the DNA test during a talk.
Sarah was being understanding when she advised Adam not to think about it since she didn’t want him to become stressed out again. Adam misunderstood what she meant when she said the results had come back and confirmed that he is the baby’s father.
Sarah was spotted that evening in Victoria Garden holding the unsealed envelope. She tore it up and put it in the trash so that Adam would think Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) is the father of the child.
Tonight, when Adam went for another scan with Sarah and Gail (Helen Worth), his paranoia resurfaced.
A genetic diseases test was recommended for Sarah by the sonographer, but when Adam and Gail said they didn’t need to worry because of their family history, Sarah was visibly shaken. She was obviously concerned that the results of the test might show the baby has inherited something from Damon’s side of the family.
Following the incident with Elaine (Paula Wilcox), Tim (Joe Duttine) threw Stephen’s possessions out of the Redbank apartment. When Sarah got home, she was there to assist Stephen.

Sarah discovered Stephen had obtained her paternity letter with the help of her uncle.
He told a huge fib and claimed to have seen Sarah throw it away and thought it had something to do with Underworld, but he also assisted her in realizing that she needed to learn the truth and find the solution.
In another instance, Adam was having a conversation with Daniel (Rob Mallard) in the pub when he started to have trouble breathing. He hurried out as he struggled with his stress and emotions and had another panic attack.
Sarah was in Victoria Garden with Stephen when Adam started talking about how he didn’t trust Sarah to read the letter.
Stephen consoled Sarah as she broke down in tears, and from the expression on her face, it appears like Damon is most likely the biological father after all.
After arriving home, Adam told Sarah about the panic attack and said he would approach the clinic for written confirmation of the DNA test because he was finding it difficult to regain Sarah’s trust.
Will Sarah read the letter first when it arrives, or will Adam learn that she has lied once more at this point?
