Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), who plays Ben in EastEnders, has been fighting bulimia for a while now and has been having a lot of difficulty.
In recent scenes, Ben pondered going to the Boxing Den instead of Lexi’s (Isabella Brown) parental responsibility hearing to vent his frustrations on a punching bag.
Ben made the decision to go to court after former professional boxer George Knight (Colin Salmon) intervened and offered some much-needed counsel, calming Jay Brown’s (Jamie Borthwick) anxiety.
Later, the family met at the Queen Vic to celebrate Jay being recognised as a co-parent. However, things quickly got too much for Ben as Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) expressed how proud he was of Jay.
Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), who offered to go with him home to pick up Lexi’s cake, saw his abrupt change in behaviour.
After overcoming her own eating disorder, Honey had begun to notice some of Ben’s symptoms, pointing out that she had seen his eating habits and the bursting blood vessels around his eyes.
Ben argued that he didn’t need her assistance, but Honey persisted in trying to convince him that she knew what she was going through.
Ben had locked himself in the loo, so Honey made the decision to talk openly about her own bulimia.

She recounted how her ex-boyfriend Adam had ruined her confidence, which prompted her to purge in order to feel like she had some degree of control over a situation in her life.
She admitted how challenging it had been to keep her condition a secret from her loved ones, but she also made the pledge to be there for Ben if he decided to come forward.
After Honey left, a distraught Ben exited the bathroom and smashed the kitchen as his emotions overcame him.
He was heartbroken when, as a result of his outburst, a framed photograph of him, Lexi, Jay, and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) was damaged.
Will Ben accept Honey’s offer of support now that she has discovered the truth about his hidden battle, or will he choose to carry on with his suffering in silence?
