In recent EastEnders scenes, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) broke Zack Hudson’s heart when she stated that she couldn’t bring herself to have another child.
After the conversation, despite both of them adamantly stating that they still desired to be together, the couple questioned whether their relationship was finished.
The only problem was Zack’s intense desire to start a family of his own.
When Whitney proposed that they look into adoption or fostering, she felt she had found a solution. However, Zack shot her down, insisting that he didn’t want to raise a child who wasn’t his.
Since she had been adopted by Bianca Jackson while he had grown up in foster care, Whitney was quick to express how surprised she was by his response.
Zack admitted that he couldn’t bear the idea of not being able to have a child of his own as she made an effort to convince him.
Although Whitney argued that he didn’t need to have his own children to demonstrate that he was not like his father, he recounted how being rejected by his father had left him desperate to have children of his own to care for.
In spite of her own reservations, she assured him that he was the kindest guy she knew and that with him at her side, she could nurture a child no matter how they obtained it.
She voiced her concern that they might become resentful of one another, but Whitney pointed out that they both obviously wanted different things.
Whitney determined they didn’t need to make any decisions tonight because Zack was concerned that this was it.
Will Zack and Whitney be able to move on or will their divergent perspectives on the future cause them to split up?
Whitney is preparing to move out of the Square, but may her departure be influenced by the breakdown of her relationship with Zack?
