In forthcoming Coronation Street episodes, Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) has some grave doubts about Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), as the businessman’s actions become more and more suspicious.
Rufus Donahue’s (Steven Meo) widow Lou is desperate to learn the truth about her husband’s death, thus Stephen’s murder of him is starting to bite him.
Lou is certain that someone else was involved even though a coroner determined that he died by accident.
She has been given a tie pin by the police that was recovered near the swimming pool where Rufus’s body was discovered, but she is aware that it never belonged to Rufus.
Knowing that he had been wearing it the night he went to Rufus’s house, poisoned him, and drowned him in the pool, Stephen was horrified when she revealed it to him.
Lou also revealed that Rufus’ pricey watch was lost in the meanwhile. Peter discovered something in the trunk of his taxi and tells Carla Connor (Alison King) that he pawned it to cover rehab costs.
Stephen makes a bold decision when Lou informs them that the police are currently looking into the mysterious tie pin and the missing watch.
In his haste, he almost gets caught when someone knocks on the door after stealing her hotel keys and going in search of the tie pin.
Peter cautions Carla to be extremely cautious and keep a watch on Stephen since something is really ‘wrong’ about his behaviour and he shouldn’t be trusted.
We already know that Stephen, who has already killed three times, doesn’t hesitate to take harsh measures when he believes he is about to be discovered.
With their suspicions, may Peter and Carla be putting themselves in danger?
