Cindy quickly follows in the footsteps of Peter (Thomas Law), much to the dismay of Ian (Adam Woodyatt), who has already returned to Walford after learning that he had two sisters.

Cindy isn’t going back to France any time soon, despite Ian’s pleading, so she immediately heads to 45 Albert Square, where she runs into Kathy (Gillian Taylforth)!

Start the drama.

Meanwhile, Ian boards a flight for home and intervenes in the altercation between his mother and Cindy by escorting Cindy outdoors for some fresh air, where she runs into her ex-boyfriend George Knight (Colin Salmon).

When George catches sight of Cindy, aka Rose, he is knocked for six. However, his elation soon turns to grief when he finds she hasn’t returned with the ladies, so he makes up a tale about their location.

Cindy soon learns, however, that her cherished daughters Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford) are only centimetres away from her, with the former commemorating her 21st birthday in the bar.

Cindy doesn’t waste any time in making her way to the Vic, where she is met by not only her children but also by historical figures who are shocked to learn that she is still alive.

Unbelievable, no? Do not miss EastEnders the following week no matter what you do since this is just the beginning of what is to come. Again, it’s a hot topic, and for good reason.

Between Monday, August 28 and Thursday, August 31, at 7:30 p.m. on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, EastEnders will broadcast these sequences.
