In a recent argument with his partner Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) on EastEnders, Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) stated that he was unable to have children of his own. He will soon be outraged when the entire Square learns of this.
Reiss suspected Sonia was cheating when he discovered an unopened pregnancy test in her suitcase. As a result, he confronted her under unexpected circumstances.
He demanded to know who the father was before admitting that he was infertile and so couldn’t be the father.
The charge wounded Sonia, who revealed that the test had come back negative and vowed never to cheat on him.
She questioned why Reiss had been tested in the first place after hearing him scream about how much he didn’t want children before determining that he must want children, but not with her.
Reiss reassured her that he really want to have children with her and urged her to think about IVF in an effort to win her over.
Sonia consented, but they immediately encountered financial difficulties after finding that their chances of receiving the therapy through the NHS were slim because Sonia was already the mother of a young child.
Reiss quickly gave her the assurance that he had an account with plenty of money that he’d forgotten about, and there was enough in there to cover three or four rounds of therapy.

But he didn’t tell her that the money belonged to his wife Debbie, who has been receiving full-time care ever since having a stroke in the bathtub and is really living there.
Sonia and Reiss will leave for their first fertility visit in following scenes. Reiss is scared by the circumstance, despite the fact that it is what he wants to accomplish.
His fertility becomes a hot topic as he later has a run-in with Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) in the laundromat.
Fortunately for Reiss, Sonia is there to console him and reassure him that he will be a wonderful father.
