Two years after her husband’s passing, legendary actress and Coronation Street star Maureen Lipman said she will be bringing her new partner to this year’s National Television Awards.
The actor who played Evelyn Plummer was wed to Guido Castro, who passed away in 2021 at the age of 84.
Although the coronavirus wasn’t the direct cause of Guido’s death, it’s thought that it made him more vulnerable.
Maureen previously disclosed that she was wearing full PPE at her husband’s bedside, thus she was unable to grip Guido’s hand during his dying moments.
It’s absurd to have to bid someone farewell while wearing gloves and a pinafore. She previously told the Mirror that the subject wasn’t worth contemplating.
“He made it through Covid in a nursing home.” He didn’t actually survive, though.
Maureen has recently been talking about meeting a man named David. She has said how content she is to be with him and that she will even be taking him to the National Television Awards, which will be shown on ITV tomorrow night (September 5) at 7:30 pm.

She told the Sunday Express, “I’m traveling with my guy buddy David.”
“It’s a gift for everyone involved.” He’s been quite kind, and it’s a gift. We’ll see where it goes, but I’ve met some incredibly intriguing and kind men in my life.
At the NTAs, Maureen is up for Best Serial Drama Performance.
Evelyn most recently had to cope with a serious situation after running across her drug-addicted daughter Cassie (Claire Sweeney) once more.
Evelyn left the cobbles for a while so Cassie could go to treatment, but when she came back, she decided to move into an apartment in the neighborhood.

But when Evelyn wasn’t around, a determined Cassie made her way to Weatherfield. When Tyrone (Alan Halsall) was located, she identified herself as his biological mother.
Joel Dommett, the NTAs’ presenter, recently shared with us his response to being chosen to emcee the glamorous awards show once more: “I find myself quite unpleasant.” I find it an amazing delight to be welcomed back a third time,’ he said.
It’s a big, enormous night all in all, and I appreciate how it seems like a big, old party. I’m just sort of the master of ceremonies, leading it from place to place all night.
I really love seeing everyone in the crowd having a great time, and I hope everyone at home is doing the same.
