As soon as Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) moves in with him, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) confronts what could be his toughest struggle yet on Coronation Street.
Sure, we do.
After receiving a letter detailing how much Evelyn means to Roy a few months ago, it became clear that she could desire to be more than just pals.
Roy wrote the letter before having heart surgery. Evelyn received a stack of them from Roy, who warned her that she would be responsible for delivering them to the individuals Roy values most if he weren’t able to make it.
Evelyn quickly grabbed the one with her name on it and gently opened it by holding it over a boiling pot of water.
Evelyn made the decision to go to the hospital after Roy’s procedure in order to express her feelings for her buddy.

But as soon as she got there, Evelyn ran into Yasmeen (Shelley King), which set off a difficult few weeks that put Evelyn’s emotions, and especially her jealousy, to the test.
Roy and Evelyn’s friendship is evident to everyone. Roy has recently been there to assist Evelyn in dealing with Cassie (Claire Sweeney), her daughter who is in recovery from drug addiction.
Roy will be welcoming Evelyn into the café flat next week with a focus on showing support.
Roy discovers that she isn’t the easiest of guests as she settles in, but will they be able to get along?
Where will things go if they do?
