According to recent scenes in EastEnders, Cindy Williams Jr. (Mimi Keene) and Liam Butcher (Alfie Deegan) had a “messy split.”
After Cindy’s relationship with Ian and Jane Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Laurie Brett) deteriorated, the couple went to Germany together in 2015.
As a result, Cindy Jr. hasn’t been present to see Cindy Beale’s second coming when she rose from the grave earlier this year.
The audience discovered that Cindy had actually never died and had instead spent the last 25 years living under witness protection.
The Beales and the Knights, who had served as her family throughout her stay in witness protection, were completely taken aback by this.
Cindy was worried about how Cindy Jr. could respond after being rejected by daughters Anna and Gina (Molly Rainford and Francesca Henry).
Cindy Jr.’s concerns are very genuine because Cindy Jr. grew up thinking that her mother died giving birth to her and consequently held herself responsible for her death.
Peter quickly clarified that Cindy wouldn’t learn the truth, though, since she had chosen to travel to discover herself following a contentious separation with Liam.
This meant that Cindy would have sufficient time to get ready before telling the daughter she never met the truth.
Cindy asked Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) if she was still in touch with Cindy Jr., who had been referenced several times in recent weeks.
Before requesting an update from Cindy, Kathy explained that she sends Christmas cards but never receives a response.
Cindy admitted that although she wanted to, she didn’t feel like the moment was appropriate. She continued by saying that since she didn’t truly know her, she wasn’t sure whether she had the right to get in touch with her.
