In forthcoming Coronation Street episodes, Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) smashes a police officer in the face, which puts him in legal hot water.
With his granddaughter Eliza (Savannah Kunyo) lately reestablishing contact with her father Dom (Darren Morfitt), Stu has been under a lot of stress recently. Stu is afraid Dom doesn’t have Eliza’s best interests at heart because Dom keeps disappointing her.
In upcoming episodes, when Dom is scheduled to meet his daughter, things reach a boiling point when he once again doesn’t show up. When Eliza rejects Stu’s suggestion that they visit Eliza’s mother in prison, Stu becomes upset and claims that Dom can’t really care about her because he keeps disappointing her.

Eliza crosses the street quickly while upset and is hit by a car. She is fortunately not seriously harmed, but it offers Dom the opportunity to show up with a large teddy bear for her in an effort to win her back. Stu is deeply wounded and saddened when Eliza later declares that she wants to move home with her father.
Stu’s situation is unfortunately going to worsen as a result of this. He receives a call from Eliza’s school the following day informing him that she has not arrived. Stu visits Dom’s residence in a panic and discovers Eliza there. She reveals that she left since she was living with Dom at the time.
As Eliza’s legal guardian, Stu gets in touch with social services to ask for their assistance. However, Stu is enraged when a social worker and a police officer show there and suggest that Eliza might be better off staying with Dom for the time being.
He lashes out and accidently hits the police officer in the face as the officer tries to shoo him away. Dom smugly observes as Stu gets taken into custody for assault.
Will Stu be imprisoned for what he did? Will he ever help Eliza and him patch things up?
