Following his departure from EastEnders, comedian Brian Conley has already secured his next job, and he plans to go on tour.
Between September and March, the Rocky actor will tour the UK, making stops at a total of eight venues. Additional dates will be revealed when they become available.
The news of his performance, dubbed The 3rd Farewell Tour… To Date, spread quickly after media rumors that Brian would be departing EastEnders after two years playing Rocky Cotton due to alleged friction behind-the-scenes.
After first denying rumors of a disagreement with the show’s executives, Brian later stated that he would be departing the popular soap opera, which is now having one of its best runs in recent memory and winning prize after trophy.
In a video uploaded to his social media account, he said: “Now you may have heard stories that I am quitting EastEnders, and it was a tough decision but it is true – I am going, and I took the decision for many reasons.”
It is difficult because there is such a beautiful cast both in front of and behind the camera. I enjoyed my three years there, but it is difficult.
Regarding the allegations’ veracity, some claim that I had a disagreement with TV executives and the crews, but I didn’t have a disagreement or go out on a rant.
“I went with the Beeb’s approval, and I’m eager to see where the future will take us.”
In addition to confirming Brian’s exit, EastEnders also refuted rumors of strife behind-the-scenes through a spokeswoman.
No allegations of a conflict with the management are true at all, and the show completely supports Brian’s choice to depart, which was made some time ago.
As we continue to develop his exit storyline, which has been in the works for a while, we wish him the best of luck in the future.
Fans have already been making predictions about how Rocky will exit EastEnders, with some guessing that he would end up being the victim of the Christmas murder that was hinted at in a flash-forward scene earlier this year.
