Tisha Merry, a familiar face to Coronation Street watchers, has appeared as a character called Serena Bradley in the famous daytime series Doctors.
Tisha previously appeared in almost 300 episodes of Coronation Street as Steph Britton between 2013 and 2018.
Steph worked as a waitress and supervisor at the cafe and was friends with Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote), with whom she shared a flat, and Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan). Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) murdered her brother Luke Britton (Dean Fagan).
Steph, who had fled to Portugal after Phelan led her to believe her lover Andy Carver (Oliver Farnworth) had broken up with her, returned in January 2018 for Luke’s funeral.
Tisha was announced to be dating her Corrie co-star Alan Halsall, who portrays Tyrone Dobbs on the show, in May 2019.
Alan revealed their relationship by sharing photos on Instagram of them both attending Sam Aston (Chesney)’s wedding to Briony Gardner.
Alan, who has been on the show since 1996, has made light of the 10-year age difference between himself and Tisha.
He posted photos of himself getting beauty treatments in an apparent attempt to keep his youthful appearance, captioning the photos, ‘The s**t you have to do when your girlfriend is 10 years younger than you!!’
The pair routinely shares photos of their life together, even showing fans around their home while they were on covid lockdown.
Tisha has already spoken about her first day on Coronation Street, and how she was turned down by an overzealous security guard.
‘I auditioned, got the part, showed up on my first day, and they said no. Everyone was in the green room, including Gail, Alan, and others,’ she recounted.
‘They were like oh no you’re not here to play Steph, I was, no I am, and I had to wait outside for an hour before anyone allowed me in.
‘No one thought I was playing the part!’ I felt cursed; this position was not meant for me! I didn’t have a formal audition; I just blagged my way onto Corrie.’
Hopefully, there were no such hitches when Tisha arrived to begin work on Doctors. Fans of the program have already witnessed her debut, when her character Serena visited to rile up Claudia (Kiza Deen) about her relationship with Bear Sylvester (Dex Lee).
