The difficult relationship between Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley), to put it mildly, is expected to continue in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
Despite the gym owner’s repeated attempts to mend fences between them over the years, Karen has never been a fan of son Keanu’s (Danny Walters) relationship with Sharon.
They will argue in following scenes about Karen’s access to her grandson Albie.
Albie is the only one of Keanu’s children still present on the Square, with granddaughter Peggy having been whisked away to Portugal. Karen is eager to keep up a relationship with him despite her distaste of his mother.
However, it doesn’t take long for Sharon and Karen to start fighting verbally in the Square as it becomes apparent that they are not any closer to becoming friends.
After the dispute, Dorian tells Sharon that she has been offered a new position in Abu Dhabi. This follows their chat the week prior about how much Sharon would enjoy the lifestyle there.
Will Sharon take the job and go to the other side of the planet with Albie?
That would likely not be warmly received by Karen or Keanu.
Could Karen be preparing to take extraordinary measures to keep Albie close to her given that she will soon leave the Square after six years?
Could she ultimately flee with Albie to prevent Sharon from taking him abroad?
