Lucy Fallon of Coronation Street didn’t waste any time in responding to a troll on social media who appeared to be impersonating her.

The actress, who portrayed Bethany Platt in Weatherfield, used Instagram Stories to reveal a false page created in her name and claim that whomever was behind it has been texting others.

She has strongly stated: “Guys, this IMPOSTER is not me and it is sending people strange things.” She has denied that it has anything to do with her.

Please refrain from calling me the freak of the week.

In comparison to the 555K followers that the actual Lucy Fallon has, the fake account claims to have only 10.4K followers.

The 27-year-old’s official Instagram account is @lucyfallonx, where she has been sharing lots of adorable pictures of her son Sonny Jude, whom she and her partner Ryan Ledson welcomed in January this year.

And according to speculations that Lucy is about to renew her role as Bethany and will start filming in the upcoming months, it appears that we’ll be seeing her back on the cobblestones pretty soon as well.

Lucy played a grooming-focused character in the soap from 2015 until 2020, during which time she won numerous honors. She left the show in 2020 to work on a London-based magazine.

Her farewell scenes aired just two months before the Covid pandemic put most of the world on lockdown, and she recently stated that quitting Corrie was “the worst possible mistake” she could have made.

The worst thing you can get asked when you aren’t working is “what are you doing now?” the actress stated in a BTS With podcast interview. What will you do after that? It’s as if they ask, “What TV show are you going to be on now?”

Despite how awful lockdown was, I did kind of like that time because I didn’t have to worry about people asking me that.

However, the fact that I was probably feeling a little high when I left Corrie and that high quickly vanished due to lockdown hurt me.

“When things picked back up, I had a hard time fitting in at auditions.” Then, both the acting and the job just slightly started to break apart.

I’ll be honest, it’s been difficult for me. The main reason is that there was a global pandemic.

Thursday night at 8 o’clock on ITV, Coronation Street resumes.
