Dame Barbara Windsor’s widower Scott Mitchell has said he first met Tanya Franks while paying respect to his late wife.
Mitchell revealed earlier this year that he was seeing Windsor’s former co-star Franks, who died in 2020 at the age of 83.
On This Morning on Monday, Mitchell, who wed Windsor in 2000, made an appearance with Dermot O’Leary and Holly Willoughby and shared how he met Franks while competing in a marathon.

He said, according to the Daily Mail, “Me and my new partner, we met the first year we did the marathon.” It’s quite hilarious because I couldn’t have chosen two more disparate women.
To raise money for Dementia Revolution in 2019, Scott and Tanya each completed the London Marathon. In the years preceding her death, Windsor suffered from Alzheimer’s disease.
“They are diametrically opposed. Barbara would have conducted a three-hour interview with you on how she felt if she had sneezed at 11 o’clock. But Tanya is a wonderful woman, and she feels that discussing her private relationships is not something she enjoys doing,” he remarked.
In July, Mitchell and Franks made their relationship public. Mitchell said at the time, “I appreciate your kind wishes. Right now, everything is really nice, and we are spending some special time together.

Alfie Moon and Linda Carter will have some emotional scenes on the BBC serial in the meantime following Alfie’s prostate cancer diagnosis. The touching plot was recently preview by Shane Richie.
Since Alfie has complete faith in Linda, he remarked, “I believe it’s almost like a sense of relief for Alfie.” Alfie simply sobs on Linda’s shoulder since it is a big relief that she is aware of his needs. There must be a lot of love for Alfie and Linda out there.
