After receiving treatment for prostate cancer in EastEnders, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is expected to depart from the Square for a while.

Recently, Alfie’s world was turned upside down when he learned from physicians that he could have prostate cancer after visiting the hospital. He was then sent for more testing.

He claimed to have received the all-clear after getting his findings, but it would turn out that he was lying to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) during a confrontation. He informed Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Steve McFadden that he had received the results.

Alfie will have a prostatectomy in forthcoming episodes, and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) will visit the hospital to offer her support.

After Phil forced Alfie to visit the hospital after he complained of discomfort following a blow from Tommy Moon’s (Sonny Kendall) kid, Alfie’s cancer was discovered.

Alfie and Phil set out to find a solution to Tommy’s behavior while Alfie underwent testing and awaited findings.

They took him to the Boxing Den to help him achieve this by giving him a place to express his feelings.

In subsequent moments, Tommy will square off against his first legitimate foe in the ring, and he is keen for Alfie to watch his first battle in person.

While Alfie was undergoing tests and waiting for results, he and Phil made it their mission to find a way of fixing Tommy’s behaviour.

To do this, they took him to Boxing Den to give him a way of channelling his emotions.

In upcoming scenes, Tommy will face his first proper opponent in the ring, and he is desperate to have Alfie in the audience for his debut fight.

Before taking matters into his own hands and going to the hospital to pick him up, Phil reassures Tommy that Alfie would be there to ease his anxiety.

He informs Alfie that he is taking him to the Boxing Den when he gets there, but Alfie makes it obvious that he is not yet fit enough and that he intends to travel to Spain to get well there.

Phil worries about how he will tell Tommy about Alfie’s leaving when he gets home alone.

But it quickly becomes evident that Tommy overheard, and before long, he is berating Phil once more and calling him a liar.

Later, Kat reassures Tommy that Alfie will return soon, but Tommy is hesitant to believe her since he has been let down so many times in the past. Will she succeed in persuading him?
