Cheryl Fergison, a former EastEnders star, has resigned from the stage production Mum’s The Word before it even premieres.

The 28-date comedic sketch performance, which tackles the concept of motherhood and makes stops at various theaters in the UK, was set to feature the actress who portrayed Heather Trott on the BBC One serial, in the part of Alison.

Nevertheless, Cheryl made the courageous decision to put her mental health first amid a trying period for the actress and withdrew from the tour “due to personal reasons.” Another former EastEnders icon is expected to fill her spot.

We can all agree that Cheryl should be putting herself and her health first, and we regret that she had to leave the tour due to personal issues, according to a representative for Mum’s The Word producers Red Entertainment.

“We are thrilled that Laurie Brett, Cheryl’s EastEnders co-star, will fill the role and join the cast of Mums The Word on their UK tour.”

Cheryl explained her motivations for withdrawing, saying that she needed to be with her family right now.

Nothing makes me happier than interacting with a live audience, and I have never had to do this before, the speaker declared.

But I’ve had a lot going on recently, and I need to be there for my amazing family in every way. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the show’s producers for their incredible talent and patience.

She left the program after having a “breakdown,” insiders informed The Mirror, adding that the producers were “doing their best” to help her. Her departure has now been officially confirmed.

We are thinking about you, Cheryl.

As previously mentioned, Laurie, who portrayed Jane Beale in EastEnders, will take up Alison’s position. I’m thrilled to join Mum’s The Word and tell parents all around the nation about the humor of motherhood’s wild ride, she exclaimed. ‘

I wholeheartedly agree with Cheryl’s choice and am excited to present my interpretation of Alison to the tour.
