Next week on Coronation Street, adored Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) will experience the deadly fury of Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).

Tim has been sure that Stephen is terrible news ever since he started dating Elaine (Paula Wilcox). When he uncovered Stephen’s bogus life insurance paperwork, his suspicions were confirmed, and once Leo’s body was located, he took no time in conveying his belief that Stephen was probably involved.

Next week, when Tim discovers that Stephen is interested in the canal dredging project, his doubts start to nag at him once again.

Tim walks to the canal towpath with thoughts racing through his head, picks up an old boat hook, and begins snooping about in the water.

Then, to his horror, the hand of a body rises to the top.

Tim calls the police while running back to the cab and reports seeing a dead person, but the connection gets disconnected.

Sally is perplexed as to where Tim has disappeared (ITV).

Tim is then forced to change his attention when Stephen enters the trunk and tries to strangle him with a tie.

Fortunately, Tim escapes, but his effort to return to the cobbles is thwarted when he falls and gets hit in the head with a brick by Stephen.
While Sally (Sally Dynevor) in Weatherfield continues to believe Tim postponed their wedding anniversary celebration in order to attend a football game with Kevin (Michael Le Vell), she is unaware that her husband is actually battling for his life in the boot of his vehicle, which is also being doused with gasoline.

Will Stephen nevertheless murder Tim?
