When Callum Highway (Tony Clay) learns that Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) has obtained ketamine from Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix), he is forced to confess everything on EastEnders the next week.

As fans are aware, Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), who died away earlier this year after a courageous struggle with a deadly brain tumor, left Jay in a difficult situation.

In the wake of the catastrophe, the widower was determined to help his loved ones, especially Lexi (Isabella Brown), but his sorrow has subsequently begun to overwhelm him.

Jay, who was unable to sleep, went for a late-night stroll and was struck by how much escort Nadine resembled his beloved Lola.

Jay made it quite apparent that he wasn’t ready to go there when Nadine tried to kiss him, so he chose to spend the night lying next to her as they slept instead.

Given that Nadine had previously tried to pick him up, Callum notices the two of them together in subsequent scenes and is concerned. The next week, he confronts Jay about Nadine.

Jay doesn’t waste any time in trying to soothe Callum, explaining that he and Nadine just share a bed.

However, Callum is still dubious about the nature of the connection and follows Nadine down, informing her about Lola’s passing before pleading with her to leave Jay alone.

Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), who is tired of Jay spending his evenings somewhere else, lashes out at Jay for abandoning Lexi.

After making amends, Jay purchases the ingredients for a romantic meal, but after everything is said and done, he leaves to visit Nadine in an effort to obtain some ketamine from her after having noticed the drug on her nightstand.

Unaware of what has happened, Callum and Ben are happy to learn that Jay spent the night in his own bed at home, and Lexi plans a pizza and movie night for them.

But Jay is still having a hard time, and Callum later finds him once more on his way to Nadine’s house.

Jay is ready to offer explanations, but things take an unexpected turn when a bag of ketamine spills from his person, shocking Callum into realizing that he’s high.

Callum decides to tell Ben everything, despite Jay’s insistence that they keep everything between them. Subsequent scenes show Ben being extremely concerned about Jay and assuming that he needs to visit a counselor.

Callum agrees to speak with Jay about it, but when they get into another dispute, Jay tries to get something from Nadine once again.

Will Jay receive the aid he requires? Or will he lose Lexi as a result of his actions?
