Fans of Coronation Street would probably recognize actor Connor McIntyre most for his portrayal of the villainous Pat Phelan, but he will soon be seen in a new movie.
The movie Our Kid, which will be shown on October 29 at Raindance Film Festival, will have Connor as the lead.
In the movie, Connor plays the father of 12-year-old Laura, an ambitious football player.
The official movie summary states that 12-year-old Laura’s dream in life is to one day play professional football. Laura has a lot of football idols, but her biggest hero is really her elder brother Thomas.
“His amazing mission to overcome the obstacles he confronts from his cerebral palsy and collect money for charity through a sponsored bike ride, demonstrates to Laura and the rest of the community what persistence and perseverance can achieve.”
Thomas, a 2016 award-winning short film, served as the inspiration for the movie Our Kid.
The terrible Pat Phelan from Coronation Street, who killed four people during his reign of terror, is a far cry from the father figure Connor plays as Laura.
Phelan was fatally murdered by Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) in tense circumstances that took place in 2018. He first shot Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh).
Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), a serial murderer who has since been terrorizing the street, is expected to achieve his or her climax later this week.
Stephen is accused of three murders, multiple instances of fraud, and giving LSD to Carla Barlow (Alison King).
Now that the corpse of his second victim has been found by the police, he is in a race against time to flee the country before he is apprehended.
Will he succeed, or will he perish in a body bag like Phelan?
