By repeating a fan’s suggestion on X/Twitter, EastEnders actor Lorraine Stanley has essentially confirmed how Karen Taylor is about to leave the show.
Fans have been left wondering how Karen Taylor will depart the program after it was revealed earlier this year that she will be written out of it after six seasons.
Some have even questioned if she would perish in the flames, with many speculating that her departure may have anything to do with the anticipated café fire this fall.
In the last few days, actress Lorraine has been busy on social media, reacting to fan comments on the role and her ongoing plotline, which has seen her frequently arguing with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
One fan remarked that it appeared as though the authors were making Karen more despicable in order to lessen the impact of her passing.
As soon as Lorraine reposted this hypothesis, we began to worry whether Karen was indeed planning to escape Walford in a corpse bag.
Lorraine expressed her regret at having to say goodbye on social media when it was reported that she would be leaving the program.
‘Thank you to the BBC for providing me the opportunity to portray such a fantastic role, and to [writer] Daran Little for creating the Taylors,’ she said.
I’ll miss all the EastEnders actors and staff and will be sad to say goodbye to Karen Taylor.
However, I’m enthused about beginning new businesses and looking forward to my next chapter as a jobbing actor.Again, thank you so much for your wonderful words of encouragement. I’ll miss my Taylor and Baker famalam. Roger Griffiths, Matthew Morrison, Danny Walters, and Clair Norris. Lots of love.
Although we remain fully in the dark regarding Karen’s eventual departure, Lorraine’s retweet has certainly given us some fuel for thought.
