Cindy and Kathy Beale (Michelle Collins and Gillian Taylforth), who have always been close, are expected to fight once more in forthcoming EastEnders scenes.
The fact that Cindy Beale was back was terrible news for Kathy since son Ian (Adam Woodyatt) kicked her out of his house in favor of his ex-wife who had rekindled their relationship.
Since then, Kathy has been living with Sonia and Reiss (Natalie Cassidy and Jonny Freeman), and her tolerance for their musical mornings has worn thin.
It doesn’t take her long to determine that she and Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) need to move into their own house.
Unfortunately, Kathy Beale rarely gets what she wants, and this circumstance is no exception.
Rocky and Kathy are forced to look for a new home after a catastrophic family dinner at No. 45, where Rocky tries to win back Ian’s favor in an effort to reclaim their previous home.
Kathy is unaware that they are unable to pay the deposit because of Rocky’s careless gaming.
Later, Kathy and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) discuss how their lives are currently going, and Kathy quickly admits how much she misses her son Ian.
Things aren’t going well for them after their contentious supper the previous day, but Sharon is determined to help make things better.
She offers Ian a drink and serves as a mediator as the two negotiate.
Eventually, Kathy and Ian are able to restore their shattered bond and profess their love for one another intoxicatingly.
As soon as they return to No. 45, where Cindy is waiting, things quickly begin to escalate between her and Kathy in the traditional EastEnders fashion.
